I don’t know about you
But I have found this to be true
That some folks don’t want to wear their clothes too tight
Cause tight clothes can bring too much truth to light.
They’ll get too close and tell too much
They’ll disclose stuff you’ve tried to hide
Suggesting that you might have lied
When you insisted your food is always baked and never fried.
So, if there’s anything about your body that you don’t want disclosed,
You might just want to keep a little room between you and your clothes,
Or the very thing they were meant to cover, they will expose.
Some folks it’s best to love with some distance, as the saying goes.
The same is also true, I suppose, for our clothes.
I am a storyteller, a poet, a teacher, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a lover of life, a lover of God, a lover of words and of The Word. Proverbs 12:25 says: “Anxiety weighs down the human heart, but a good word cheers it up.” That’s what I desire to do – Share a good word!
